The Georgia Legislative Black Caucus will host a 3

The Georgia Legislative Black Caucus will host a 3-day hybrid legislative conference where policy makers, elected officials, academics, civic and religious leaders, and corporate citizens will convene to discuss the legislative priorities for 2022. Our theme, Uniting Black Voices is a testament to being a unified black voice that converges past cries for freedom with current demands for Black Lives Matter. It is that voice that led to passage of hate crimes legislation in 2020 and repealing of the citizen's arrest statute in 2021. Together is how change happens in Georgia.

Afterwards, for two weeks, the Georgia General Assembly will convene in a special session to vote on new federal and state legislative districts. This vote will impact Georgia politics for an entire decade, so it is critical we provide our constituents the knowledge and tools to advocate for their own self-interest. This town hall officially starts a series of virtual and in-person meetings to Unite Black Voices on this important topic
