2023 GLBC Internship Program
Become a GLBC Intern!
The Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, Inc. (GLBC) Internship Program is open to undergraduate students who are a junior or senior currently enrolled in a full-time program at a higher education institution within the state of Georgia. The program is open to ALL majors.
Students must NOT have completed graduation prior to the beginning of the legislative session. All students must display an interest in public service and have a willingness to learn the legislative process within the state of Georgia.
The Internship Program will execute January 9, 2023 through March 31, 2022. Work hours are generally 8:00am - 5:00pm EST, however, office hours can fluctuate on a daily basis.
How to Apply
- Student must complete the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus Internship Application Form
- Included with the application form, the student must also submit:
- Current Resume
- Official School Transcript
- A 500-word essay (Details in application)
- Student must submit a complete intern application by the deadline.
- Applicants will be notified via email, regarding interviews.

All applicants are subject to a personal interview with GLBC staff to determine if the applicant will be accepted into the program. Once selected, students are assigned to offices in the Georgia House of Representatives or the Georgia State Senate. Each intern will serve a unique purpose in the process and have a multitude of different tasks to perform each day that may include legislative tracking, constituent services, media assistance, attendance at committee meetings, writing bill summaries and so much more. During your time at the State Capitol, interns will gain knowledge of how state government works, how the legislative process works, along with making lifelong career contacts and friendships.
